For an exotic holiday that will not break your budget, look no further than the sunny beaches of tropical Mexico. In Mexico, you can tour ancient pyramids, swim with the dolphins, snorkel crystalline waters-or simply hang your hammock on a white sand beach and watch the world go by. Mexico hotels

offer all types of modern amenities so you can enjoy a luxurious holiday at an affordable price. Since each region of Mexico has its own unique characteristics and attractions, here is a brief look at what you can expect in the different areas.

Cancun

If you crave a big city vibe full of shops, restaurants, bars and discos, book a trip to the cosmopolitan city of Cancun. While Cancun initially rose to fame due to its powdery white sand beaches and aqua waters, today its array of shops, restaurants and luxury Mexico hotels

make it an increasingly popular destination for many international travellers. Cancun has some of the world's best diving, snorkelling and sports fishing, making these "must-do" activities for many travellers to Cancun. At night, Cancun really comes alive. It boasts some of the best nightlife in Mexico, centred on the Hotel Zone, where you can find nightclubs playing almost any type of music imaginable-from R&B and Rap to Jazz and Soul.

Cozumel

While Cozumel spent many years as a sleepy fishing island, today the island is a popular destination for snorkelers and scuba divers, as well as a common port-of-call for cruise ships in the area. Quieter than the nearby island of Cancun, Cozumel retains much of its laid-back island charm. The island's large selection of restaurants serves up some of the freshest seafood imaginable, as well as international favourites like pizza and hamburgers. One of the island's most notable tourist attractions is Chankanaab National Park, a conservation area located in the centre of the island where you can swim with dolphins, sea lions and manatees, as well as explore pristine coral reefs. After a day spent exploring Cozumel's beaches and reefs, you can retire to one of the island's comfortable Mexico hotels for some much-needed rest and relaxation.

Mayan Riviera

This region extends along the coastline south of Cancun and includes the charming seaside city of Playa del Carmen, as well as the resort communities of Puerto Aventuras, Puerto Morelos, Puerto Juarez, Playa Paraiso and Playa Maroma. The region offers some of the most luxurious Mexico hotels

as well as many of its most beautiful beaches. If you tire of lounging about the beach at your resort, you can visit some of the notable Mayan ruins in the area, including those of Tulum and Coba. Other "must-see" attractions in the region include the lagoon of Xel-Ha where you can see thousands of species of aquatic life and the eco-amusement park Xcaret, which tells the story of the Mayan culture through hands-on exhibits of the area's flora and fauna and an interactive show.
